Private, Public Spaces

This is one of the underground mass transit stations on Bangkok’s MRT train subway line. Seeing this for the first time after many years of taking NYCT it was an award-winning design of an underground space. Building upon a Chinese banquet hall design theme, color palette reflected the vermillion reds, golds, and patterns of the local community where this subway stop is located in Bangkok’s Chinatown. Beautifully lit and very well maintained. Other stops along the MRT line are also multi-purpose spaces containing retail shops, restaurants, banking, and services such as massages and shoe repair. Pretty handy. The underground spaces are all air conditioned which makes for a comfy trip.
